let's check out the new conditional
formatting function we have the ability
to do conditional formatting to give
color indication of threshold values the
conditional formatting is found in this
menu conditional formatting we have the
ability to set conditional formatting on
a cell value we can select a color
equal not equal to smaller than small or
equal to greater than greater or equal
to or if it's between
or not between a value and then we
insert the value we can combine all of
them so we can have additional
conditions and they will go in priority
so if the first one is met
that's the one that will be applied
in this example let's say if it's equal
to eight
if it's smaller than eight
or if it's uh greater than
eight
if this for some example would have been
equal to eight it would still be green
because that is the top one
these are the tools we have on cell
level for row totals we can work with
either the week total or the month total
same options here color
condition and a value
this will obviously be a week relevant
value for like 40 hours for a week for
example
or if we have a monthly value let's say
140 hours or something like that for a
monthly value
we can also summarize the column total
same settings here select a color send
select a condition and a value
the last item we can customize with
conditional formatting is the total
total of the whole view
again the same options
let's look at this on the table so we
can
do one cell we can do the column total
we can do the weekly total and the total
of totals
let's talk about the status columns
in the default template you have one
status column called status another one
called approval this is just one example
of how you can utilize this
functionality
you can have one status column per time
reporting view
in this example
we want to show you that the person
entering the time has
finalized their time so that's why we
call it submitted
and we have used monday basic
automations to automatically change the
approval column to ready for review
we use the basic monday automation when
status changes to submitted change the
approval to ready for review so we'll
make sure that the approval view is
always up to date
this is like i said just one example we
don't need to use either the status we
don't need an approval column at all and
the way it works is when you look at the
time reporting view
let's go to the
week where we had some entries
this means that we have some
statuses that are submitted and some
that are not let's make sure that we go
and submit it and let's submit this row
as well our attention is that this means
that thomas carlson is done with this
week
that will be reflected in turn in the
approval view
where we can then say that they see that
they are ready for review
if we don't want to see the status
column or we don't want to use the
status column we can just remove it as
well
